Short History of the Club
 The Club started in February 1999 when we formally affiliated to Tamba, but several months before that, several women with twins in Highgate, Crouch End and Muswell Hill gathered for mutual support as one by one we gave birth to our twins and recognized the benefits of a support network.
We had met at yoga classes and NCT classes, where teachers noticed an increase in numbers of multiples mums, and thoughtfully put us in touch with each other.  There was no other local provision specifically for women and their partners as they anticipated the birth and subsequent raising of more than one baby at once.
Even at the hospitals the information was seldom relevant. Soon it dawned on us that we were now the best authorities on our experience and that, just as we had benefited so much from that information and support, it should be available to a wider group.
The Club has grown in a short time to over 80 families, with several sets of triplets. |
